The HomeServices Foundation for Housing Equity is a non-profit 501c3 organization that is committed to increasing homeownership and generational wealth for people of color through education, investment in individuals, financial assistance, and community reinvestment.
Our goal is to intentionally invest in people and communities that have been systemically disenfranchised or otherwise disadvantaged and rethink and redefine the meaning of “equal” by providing strategic aid to communities of color.
As leaders in the housing industry, we are uniquely qualified and well positioned to contribute to lasting, meaningful change. We will continue to focus our efforts on effectuating positive social change through increased minority homeownership and growing diversity in the real estate community that can directly impact our mission.

Director, Chairman of the Board
Dana Strandmo, senior vice president and chief administrative officer of HomeServices of America, Inc., provides guidance and direction on the administrative functions across the HomeServices enterprise including human resources, information technology, insurance, legal, marketing, corporate relocation and title/escrow operations.
Strandmo joined HomeServices in September of 2003 where he served as its senior vice president and general counsel directing the legal affairs of the company and its subsidiaries in 25 states. Prior to HomeServices, Strandmo served as corporate counsel and vice president of Edina Realty, Inc., one of the company's affiliates. He spent seven years with Edina Realty, guiding in matters pertaining to real estate matters, contract, intellectual property, employment law and litigation.
Strandmo received his Juris Doctor from William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota. He lives with his wife, Theresa, in Maple Grove, Minnesota, and has four sons.
Director, Governance Committee Chairperson
Mike Browne, chief legal officer, and secretary of HomeServices of America, Inc., is actively involved in executive management and directs all legal matters affecting the company and its subsidiaries in 33 states. Headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota, HomeServices is the nation’s largest real estate company, based on transaction sides, and through its operating companies, is the country’s premier provider of homeownership services, including brokerage, mortgage, title, escrow and insurance services.
Prior to joining HomeServices in August 2004, Browne was an associate in the commercial litigation, insurance coverage, and IP practice groups at Meagher & Geer, P.L.L.P. in Minneapolis.
Browne earned his Juris Doctor from Indiana University School of Law-Indianapolis and his bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He lives with his wife, Shannon, in St. Paul, Minnesota and has three daughters.
Director, Marketing and Communications Committee Chairperson
Fabián Gayosso is director of community affairs for ReeceNichols Real Estate, leading their Hispanic department and managing the company’s efforts to better serve and reflect the evolving population in Kansas and Missouri within their agents, leadership and client base. He specializes in strengthening community partnerships and building strategic alliances to develop, implement and promote programs and strategies aimed to improve the living standards of the communities.
Previous experience includes work with the Consulates of Mexico in Kansas City and El Paso, Texas, and marketing roles in two Kansas City Latino-consumer focused marketing and media groups.
Born and raised in Mexico City, Gayosso earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations in Mexico. He resides in Jackson County, Missouri.
Director, Grant Making Committee Chairperson
April Alexander, national community development and outreach manager for Prosperity Mortgage, LLC, demonstrates a history of helping under-served, minority and low-income sectors of the housing industry. She specializes in banking and credit analysis, building strong relationships with local housing authorities and developing businesses that strengthen the community and social service reputation within the industry.
Alexander joined Prosperity Mortgage in January of 2005 where for seven years she served as the area manager for southern Maryland. She focused on increasing sales production, growing profitable market share and managing P&L.
Alexander earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting and Business/Management from Marymount Manhattan College. She currently resides in Maryland.

Desrie van Putten is president of Guarantee Real Estate, Central California’s leading real estate brokerage. The firm specializes in selling single family homes, condos, PUDs, vacation homes, cabins, lots, land, commercial, agriculture, and income-producing investment properties in Fresno, Madera, Tulare and Kings counties. For more than 100 years, the Guarantee name has played an integral part in making homeownership a reality in the Central Valley.
Desrie began her real estate career in 2010 when she joined Guarantee Real Estate’s Fig Garden office. In 2017, Desrie, together with Sandy Darling, Sales Manager, successfully merged the Fig Garden and Flex offices into what is currently the Guarantee Real Estate Fig Garden office, providing support and leadership for almost 100 agents. She was named President in 2019.

Gretchen Rosenberg, president and CEO of Kentwood Real Estate, Colorado’s exclusive affiliate of HomeServices of America, Inc., navigates Kentwood’s growing team of over 240 Realtors® in Colorado’s brokerage network. Kentwood is one of the nation’s most prestigious luxury real estate brokerages in Colorado serving communities throughout the northern Front Range from metropolitan Denver to Fort Collins and beyond, and clientele in all price ranges who appreciate the Kentwood luxury touch.
With over 25 years of experience in residential real estate, Rosenberg is deeply committed to supporting Kentwood Real Estate Broker Associates, homebuyers and sellers, the real estate community and the local community at large. She participated in the founding of the Kentwood Cherry Creek office as an agent two years after becoming a licensed Broker in Colorado and acted as the managing broker of the Cherry Creek office for over 11 years.
Rosenberg earned her bachelor’s in public affairs and international studies and an MBA in marketing from University of Denver. She currently resides in Colorado and visits her son, Joe, as much as possible.
Director, Finance Committee Chairperson
As Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for HomeServices, Alex directs the company’s financial strategies and partners with our corporate team and operating company leadership to develop and implement business planning strategies. Alex has oversight for financial reporting of the HomeServices enterprise including budgets and forecasting, treasury, capital management and business-financial systems plays an integral role in mergers and acquisition-related due diligence and integration activities for the organization.
Alex earned his Bachelor of Science degree focused in Accounting from Saint Cloud State University - G.R. Herberger College of Business.
